Tansen: The number of fatalities in a tipper accident in Palpa has risen to four. The accident occurred on Saturday night at Rahbas in Mathagadhi–7, Palpa, involving a tipper truck bearing registration number Lu 2 Kha 4525.
The deceased have been identified as 26-year-old driver Chintabahadur Sunar from Sitganga Municipality–4, Arghakhanchi; 26-year-old Sunil Bik from the same locality; 26-year-old Sunil Nepali from Khaireni, Devdaha Municipality–2, Rupandehi; and 33-year-old Rajan Chidi from Tansen–10.
The empty tipper was en route from Jhadeva, Mathagadhi–4, to a limestone quarry in Rahbas, Ward No. 7, at around 6:00 PM on Saturday when it met with the accident at the quarry site.
According to Hom Prakash Chaudhary, Information Officer at the District Police Office, Palpa, all four injured individuals were rushed to Lumbini Medical College, Prabhas, Tansen, where three were declared dead by doctors upon arrival.
The critically injured Rajan Chidi later succumbed to his injuries during treatment at Bhairahawa Medical College.Police have stated that further investigation into the incident is ongoing. The tipper reportedly fell approximately 50 meters below the road.
