UML submitting memorandums nationwide demanding Oli’s release

Kathmandu: The CPN-UML has announced that it will submit memorandums to all 77 District Administration Offices across the country today, demanding the release of its chairman, KP Sharma Oli.

After Oli was arrested from his residence yesterday based on allegations made by the Gauribahadur Karki Commission, the party’s Secretariat meeting decided to oppose the move and submit memorandums calling for his release.

According to Min Bahadur Shahi, Coordinator of the party’s Publicity and Publication Department, preparations are underway in Kathmandu to gather at Maitighar Mandala and proceed with slogan-shouting rallies to the administration office to submit the memorandum. On Saturday, party-affiliated organizations had already staged a protest march from Maitighar to Baneshwor.

In connection with Oli’s arrest, an interaction program with legal experts is scheduled for 10:30 AM today. According to Press Chautari, the event will be held at the organization’s central office in Putalisadak.
