Kathmandu — The first meeting of the task force formed to prepare a discussion document on constitutional amendments is scheduled to be held on Wednesday at the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers.
According to the Cabinet decision of Chaitra 16, the “Constitution Amendment Discussion Document Preparation Task Force–2082” was formed under the coordination of Asim Shah, Chief Political Advisor to Prime Minister Balen Shah. The task force is convening its first meeting today.
As per the Prime Minister’s Secretariat, the meeting will take place at 3:00 PM. The task force includes representatives from various political parties as members. Representing the Nepali Congress is Mohan Acharya; from the CPN (UML), Constituent Assembly member Dr. Bhishmanath Adhikari; from the CPN (Maoist Centre), Constituent Assembly member and former Law Minister Dev Prasad Gurung; from the Rastriya Prajatantra Party, parliamentary party leader Gyanendra Shahi; and from the Rastriya Janamorcha, General Secretary Manoj Bhatt.
Meanwhile, internal discussions are ongoing within the Nepali Congress, Shram Sanskriti Party, Janata Samajwadi Party, and Loktantrik Samajwadi Party regarding their respective representatives. It is expected that these parties will finalize their nominations for the task force today.
Additionally, Pushkar Sapkota, Secretary at the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers (Law Division), and Indira Dahal, Secretary of the Nepal Law Commission, are also members of the task force. Liladhar Subedi, Chief of the Law and Judgment Implementation Division, has been designated as the Member Secretary of the task force.
