Kathmandu, April 30 — The country is currently under the combined influence of westerly and local winds, along with a low-pressure system prevailing in the lower atmosphere near the eastern region.
Due to the impact of this low-pressure system, most parts of the country are experiencing cloudy conditions. According to the Meteorological Forecasting Division, many places in Bagmati and Gandaki Provinces, as well as some locations in Koshi, Lumbini, and Karnali Provinces, are witnessing moderate rainfall accompanied by thunder, lightning, and gusty winds. A few places in Madhesh and Sudurpashchim Provinces are also experiencing similar weather conditions.
This afternoon, most parts of the country are expected to remain partly to generally cloudy. There is a possibility of moderate rainfall with thunder and lightning in some areas of Koshi and Madhesh Provinces, as well as in the hilly and mountainous regions. Light to moderate हिमपात (snowfall) is also likely in the mountainous regions.
Similarly, tonight, the mountainous regions are expected to remain generally cloudy, while the hilly and Terai regions will experience partly cloudy conditions. The Division has forecast moderate rainfall and possible snowfall in some hilly and mountainous areas of Koshi, Bagmati, and Gandaki Provinces, as well as in a few other regions.
