Kathmandu — The Communist Party of Nepal (Unified Marxist–Leninist) secretary Mahesh Basnet’s wife, Ambika Basnet, along with 10 others, has been ordered released on bail by the Kathmandu District Court.
A complaint alleging attempted murder had been filed against them by Januka Pathak, also known as Shobha.
A single bench of Judge Mahendra Bahadur Karki on Thursday ordered the release of Ambika Basnet and Sharmila Basnet on bail of NPR 50,000 each, while the remaining eight individuals were released on bail of NPR 25,000 each.
All of the accused, including Mahesh Basnet’s wife, were presented before the court directly from police custody.
The following individuals were released on bail of NPR 25,000 each:
