Kathmandu — The Department of Hydrology and Meteorology has stated that the country is currently under the influence of a western low-pressure system, local winds, and a low-pressure area located in the lower atmosphere near the eastern region of Nepal.
According to the department, Gandaki, Lumbini, Karnali, and Sudurpashchim provinces, along with most of the hilly and mountainous regions of the country, are generally experiencing cloudy conditions, while the remaining Terai regions are partly cloudy.
Light rainfall accompanied by thunder and lightning is currently occurring in some places of Bagmati, Gandaki, and Lumbini provinces, as well as at one or two locations in Koshi, Karnali, and Sudurpashchim provinces.
This afternoon, generally cloudy weather is expected in Koshi and Madhesh provinces, including the hilly and mountainous regions across the country, while the remaining Terai areas are likely to remain partly cloudy.
There is a possibility of moderate rainfall with thunder and lightning at some places in the hilly and mountainous regions of all provinces, including Koshi Province, and at one or two places in Madhesh Province.
The department has also forecast light rainfall at one or two places in the remaining Terai regions. Snowfall is also likely in the high mountainous areas.
Similarly, tonight, the hilly and mountainous regions are expected to remain generally cloudy, while the Terai region will experience partly cloudy conditions.
There is a possibility of moderate rainfall accompanied by thunder, lightning, and snowfall at some places in the hilly and mountainous regions of Koshi, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces.
The department has also stated that light rainfall and snowfall may occur at one or two places in Madhesh Province and other mountainous regions.
