Kathmandu — Nepal is currently under the influence of a western low-pressure system and local winds. According to the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology, partly to generally cloudy conditions are prevailing over the hilly and mountainous regions of the country, including Koshi, Madhesh, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces, while the remaining areas are experiencing partly cloudy weather. Light rainfall is occurring at a few places in Bagmati and Gandaki provinces.
The department stated that this afternoon, generally cloudy conditions are likely to persist over the hilly and mountainous regions of Koshi, Madhesh, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces, while the rest of the country will witness partly cloudy skies.
There is a possibility of moderate rainfall accompanied by thunder and lightning at a few places in Koshi, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces, as well as at some locations in the hilly and mountainous regions of the remaining provinces and one or two places in the Tarai region. Snowfall is also likely in some mountainous areas. In addition, a few districts in the hilly and Tarai regions of Sudurpashchim Province may experience strong winds, hailstorms, thunder, and lightning.
Similarly, tonight, generally cloudy weather is expected to continue over the hilly and mountainous regions of Koshi, Madhesh, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces, while the remaining areas will remain partly cloudy. The department has forecast moderate rainfall with thunder and lightning at a few places in Koshi, Madhesh, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces, as well as at one or two places in the hilly and mountainous regions of the other provinces, along with chances of snowfall in higher elevations.
