Kathmandu: The Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) is holding ward-level conventions across the country today, aiming to form new committees in around 1,500 wards.
According to Shankar Shrestha, Secretary of the party’s Organization Department, ad hoc committees have been formed in nearly 3,000 wards nationwide. Of these, conventions in around 50 percent of the wards were completed before and after the elections. The remaining wards, where ad hoc committees had been formed but conventions had not yet taken place, will hold their ward conventions today.
The RSP has decided to complete the ward conventions in two phases. For wards where ad hoc committees are formed before Jeth 3, the party has scheduled ward conventions for Jeth 16. The party has also fixed two phases for municipal-level conventions, which are scheduled to take place on Jeth 9 and 17.
