Rs. 3.61 billion revenue collected in ten months

Jhapa:The Inland Revenue Office, Bhadrapur, has collected revenue amounting to Rs. 3.61 billion during the first ten months of the current fiscal year 2082/83. This amount represents 82.21 percent of the target set for the period.

According to Tax Officer Dilliram Chamlagai, the office had set a revenue collection target of Rs. 4.40 billion by the end of Baisakh in the current fiscal year. For the month of Baisakh alone, the target was Rs. 428.56 million; however, only 83.87 percent of the target was achieved.

According to the office’s statistics, by the end of Baisakh in the current fiscal year, revenue collections included Rs. 1.68 billion from income tax, Rs. 1.28 billion from Value Added Tax (VAT), and Rs. 499.73 million from excise duty.

The office stated that efforts are ongoing to increase revenue collection through taxpayer awareness programs, regular monitoring, and the effective implementation of tax administration measures.
