Moderate rainfall likely in hilly regions, hot winds expected in Kailali and Kanchanpur

Kathmandu – Rainfall was recorded in several places, including the Kathmandu Valley, on Tuesday due to the influence of westerly and local winds.

According to the Meteorological Forecasting Division, the hilly and mountainous regions of Koshi, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces, as well as Lumbini, Karnali, and Sudurpashchim provinces, are expected to witness generally cloudy conditions this afternoon. The Terai regions of Lumbini and Sudurpashchim provinces are likely to remain partly cloudy.

The Division stated that some places in the hilly and mountainous areas of Koshi, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces, as well as a few places in the Terai regions of Madhesh, Koshi, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces, along with the hilly and mountainous regions of Lumbini, Karnali, and Sudurpashchim provinces, may experience moderate rainfall and snowfall accompanied by thunder and lightning.

Similarly, there is a possibility of light rainfall with thunder and lightning at one or two places in the Terai region of Lumbini Province.

The Meteorological Forecasting Division has also forecast the likelihood of hot winds in the Terai districts of Sudurpashchim and Lumbini provinces, including Kailali and Kanchanpur. Gusty winds are also likely at a few places in the Terai regions of Madhesh, Koshi, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces.

Partial cloud cover is expected in the hilly areas of Lumbini, Karnali, and Sudurpashchim provinces, while the Terai regions of Lumbini and Sudurpashchim provinces are expected to remain mostly clear.

The Division further stated that moderate rainfall and snowfall are likely at some places in Koshi and Madhesh provinces and at a few places in Bagmati and Gandaki provinces. Light rainfall and snowfall accompanied by thunder and lightning are also possible at one or two places in the hilly and mountainous regions of Lumbini and Karnali provinces, as well as the mountainous areas of Sudurpashchim Province.
