Kathmandu — Rabi Lamichhane, Chairperson of the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP), who is currently on an official visit to India, is scheduled to hold talks with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday.
As part of his visit, Lamichhane on Tuesday held significant political and diplomatic discussions with senior leaders of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) at the party’s central headquarters in New Delhi. He met separately with BJP National President Nitin Navin, General Secretary Arun Singh, Head of the Foreign Affairs Department Dr. Vijay Chauthaiwale, and Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta.
Lamichhane also held separate meetings with Indian External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar and Home Minister Amit Shah. According to the RSP, the discussions focused on Nepal–India relations, mutual interests, democratic practices, security cooperation, and dialogue and collaboration between the political parties of the two countries.
The party stated that the primary objective of the visit is to further strengthen the historic, cultural, and people-to-people ties between the two neighboring nations while broadening dialogue on democratic values and principles in line with contemporary needs.
According to a statement shared by the RSP on social media, the meetings also included exchanges of strategic experiences related to organizational strengthening, grassroots public engagement, development-oriented good governance, and the leadership role of the younger generation in contemporary politics.
The high-level delegation includes Chairperson Lamichhane, RSP Joint General Secretary Bipin Kumar Acharya, and Secretariat Member Deepak Bohara, among others. The delegation is visiting India at the invitation of the BJP and is scheduled to return to Nepal on June 5.
