Sinja (Jumla), June 17 — One person has died and another has been seriously injured in a tractor accident along the Karnali Highway near Lachhugaun in Ward No. 3 of Tatopani Rural Municipality, Jumla.
According to Chiranjivi Dahal, Chief of the District Police Office, Jumla, a tractor bearing registration number Ka 1 Ta 14 met with an accident at approximately 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday at a location known as Kholasada in Tatopani Rural Municipality–3. The vehicle reportedly plunged about 200 meters below the roadway.
The deceased has been identified as Khavendra Shahi, 35, a resident of Ward No. 4 of Tila Rural Municipality. Another individual, Deumani Sarki, 53, of Nuwakot, Ward No. 4 of Tila Rural Municipality, sustained serious injuries in the accident.
According to Dahal, the tractor was transporting goods from Jumla Bazaar to Nuwakot in Tila Rural Municipality–4 when the accident occurred. The tractor is owned by Bir Bahadur Shahi.
The District Police Office, Jumla, stated that further investigation is underway to determine the cause of the accident.
