Kathmandu, July 3 — Prime Minister Walendra Shah has convened a meeting of the Constitutional Council. According to Deepa Dahal, Press and Research Adviser to the Prime Minister, the meeting has been scheduled for 5:00 p.m. on Friday and will be held at the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers in Singha Durbar.
The meeting has been called to recommend appointments to vacant positions in various constitutional bodies. At present, the posts of Chairperson and Members in several commissions, including the Election Commission, the National Human Rights Commission, and the Muslim Commission, remain vacant.
The Constitutional Council comprises Prime Minister Walendra Shah; Speaker Dol Prasad Aryal; Chairperson of the National Assembly Narayan Prasad Dahal; Deputy Speaker Ruvikumari Thakur; Chief Justice Manoj Kumar Sharma; and the Leader of the Main Opposition Party, Bhishmaraj Angdambe.
