Kathmandu, April 6: The final list of candidates is being published today for by-elections to be held on 10th Baisakh. According to the Election Commission, the final list of candidates is scheduled to be published after 3 pm.
After the publication of the final list, the candidates will get the election symbol. Before that, those interested in withdrawing their candidature have been given time from 9 am to 1 pm. Those who want to withdraw their candidature can do so at this time.
Broadcasting of by-election will officially begin today after the candidates receive the election symbols. Candidates can campaign up to 48 hours before the election. An investigation was conducted yesterday on the complaint filed against the candidate.
The complaint filed against Rabi Lamichhane, chairman of Rastriya swatantra Party, who registered his candidacy in Chitwan Region No. 2, has been dismissed. After the complaint was dismissed, his candidature remains. Elections will be held in Tanahun 1 and Bara 2 along with Chitwan 2 on the 10th of Baisakh.
