Kathmandu, April 9 : The District Court, Kathmandu is conducting a hearing against rape-accused cricketer Sandeep Lamichhane today. The final hearing of the case against Sandeep Lamichhane, the former captain of the Nepali national cricket team, will be held . The district court of Kathmandu has given priority to the case that could not be heard because it did not get a turn last week.
The hearing was scheduled to be held last Wednesday in the court of Judge Keshav Prasad Ghimire, who decided the case of Lamichhane, but it was stopped at the request of the lawyer. Although the hearing was scheduled for re-hearing, the hearing could not be held last Thursday due to lack of time limit.
According to the instructions given by the Supreme Court for the speedy disposal of the case, there is a possibility that the verdict will come today. Sandeep, who was accused of raping a teenage girl, was sent to prison for preliminary investigation by the Kathmandu District Court. With that order, Lamichhane went to jail for pre-trial detention, but the Patan High Court released him on bail of 2 million rupees with conditions.
