kathmandu, April 12: The government has ‘warned’ the Mayor of Kathmandu Metropolitan City, Balen Shah, to focus on his work in a responsible manner. A meeting of the Council of Ministers held at the office of the Prime Minister and the Council of Ministers at Singhdarbar on Tuesday decided to ‘warn’ Mayor Shah to realize his responsibility as responsibility of collecting garbage in Kathmandu Valley is at the local level.
The meeting urged compliance with the policy arrangement as the expression of Mayor Shah of Kathmandu Metropolitan City, who did not pick up the garbage of Sheetal Niwas, Baluwatar and Singha Durbar, was unreasonable.
Speaking to the media persons after the meeting, Government Spokesperson and Minister of Communication and Information Technology Rekha Sharma said that the announcement by the KMC Mayor to not pick up garbage from Singha Durbar, Baluwatar and Sheetal Niwas is against the policy.
She also said that the Council of Ministers appointed Govinda Acharya, the former President of the Federation of Nepali Journalists, as the press advisor to the Prime Minister.
