Rabi, Swornim and Yadav continue to lead vote count

Kathmandu, April 24: Rabi Lamichhane of Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) is leading in the vote counting of Chitwan-2. Lamichhane has got 4,358 votes so far followed by Ram Prasad Neupane of CPN-UML with 2,585 votes. Jit Narayan Shrestha of the Nepali Congress got 2,205 votes.

Likewise, Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) candidate Dr Swarnim Wagle continues to lead in the vote count of the by-election to the House of Representatives (HoR) member held in Tanahu-1 on Sunday by a wide margin.

Wagle has obtained 22, 082votes so far while Nepali Congress leader Govinda Bhattarai, who is also the common candidate of the ruling coalition, received 12,642 votes .  CPN-UML candidate Sarbendra Khanal got 6,458 votes, informed chief returning officer Komal Prasad Acharya.

Vote counting started at 11.45 pm last night. A total of 63,757 votes were cast in 42 wards of the Tanahu constituency-1.

Next,  Janata Samajwadi Party (JSP) candidate Upendra Yadav has taken lead in the vote count of the by-election held on Sunday. Yadav has received 1,872 votes so far. Janamath Party’s Shivchandra Kushwaha is following Yadav with 1,661 votes. UML’s Purushottam Paudel, who is in third place, has got 729 votes, while Ramesh Kharel of Rastriya Swatantra Party has got 269 votes.,
