Kathmandu, April 25: Rabi Lamichhane, president of Rashtriya Swatantra Party, has been elected in Chitwan- 2 with a wide margin of votes. Lamichhane won by getting 54 thousand 276 votes. Lamichhane’s nearest competitor Jeet Narayan Shrestha of Congress got 11 thousand 251 votes. The difference between Lamichhane and Shrestha is 43 thousand 25.
Similarly, UML candidate Ram Prasad Neupane got 10 thousand 935 votes. Earlier, Congress candidate Umesh Shrestha got 14 thousand 988 votes and Krishna Bhakta Pokharel of UML got 14 thousand 652 votes.
Lamichhane had previously secured 49,300 votes on Mangsir 4 . The by-election was held after he lost his position as an MP due to the citizenship dispute. In this by-election too, Lamichhane won again with a huge margin.
