Kathmandu, May 17: The Democratic Thought Society, a common forum of the professionals subscribing to democratic ideologies, is going to organize its 12th national convention in Kathmandu today. In a press conference organized by the Society here on Tuesday, President of the Society Dr Kedar Narsing KC shared that over 300 representatives from over 60 districts will participate in the two-day event.
Stating that the Society had been taking a firm stance against corruption, KC said it was moving forward as a unified ideological civil society by rising above the ideals of the political party.
Similarly, Senior Vice-Chairperson of the Society Kul Chandra Wagle informed that the Society had been annually honouring various individuals with the title, ‘Democratic Warrior Honour’ since its establishment in 2052 BS.
This year the Society is honouring Dr Suresh Malla, added senior Vice-Chairperson Wagle. On the occasion, human rights activist Sudeep Pathak opined that the Society would play an important role in guiding the State through discussions, discourse and brainstorming.
