Jalhari dispute in HoR : Meeting being called from 4 PM today

Kathmanfu, May 27 : Kathmandu. On Friday, the House of Representatives meeting, which was adjourned for 20 minutes, could not resume after CPN-UML MPs interrupted it. The meeting was adjourned till Saturday. The meeting, which was adjourned from 12:30 noon yesterday, was called for 3:00 p.m. after being unable to sit for 20 minutes, and then for 6:00 p.m. But the meeting could not be held at that time. As the meeting could not be held on Friday, it has been called for today at 4 pm.

In Friday’s meeting, the ruling CPN-Maoist Center MP Lekhnath Dahal accused UML president KP Oli of corruption by hoisting a brass jalhari at Pashupatinath, and the UML MPs interrupted the meeting demanding the government to respond. UML parliamentarians have taken a stand that they will not allow the parliament to function until the answer is given.

In the working room of Speaker Devraj Ghimire, there were repeated all-party discussions regarding the question raised about the Jahlari placed in the Pashupatinath temple and the action that Parliament can take on it. But the squeeze did not come out. According to the leaders, UML has taken the stand that Maoist MP Lekhnath Dahal should apologize. The Maoist Center has proposed to form a parliamentary inquiry committee and proceed through it.

Discussions on the government’s policies and programs have been going on since last Sunday in the meeting of the House of Representatives. Yesterday, Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal Prachanda had an agenda to answer the questions raised during the discussion on policies and programs.
