Kathmandu: The budget speech for the coming financial year 2080/81 has started. Finance Minister Dr. Prakasharan Mahat has started reading the budget in the joint meeting of the National Assembly and the House of Representatives. The government has claimed that the budget for the coming financial year 2080/81 has been prepared keeping in mind the basic aspects of the common people.
Presenting the budget in Parliament, Finance Minister Dr. Prakasharan Mahat said that the budget for the coming financial year will focus on maintaining prosperity, good governance and social justice. He said that attention has been given to reducing poverty, promoting the use of information technology, employment for the youth in the country, and proper use of resources.
The government has prepared to bring a budget of around 17 billion rupees with the target of economic growth of six and a half percent. The Planning Commission has given a ceiling to bring a budget of 16 trillion 88 billion rupees for the coming financial year.
