Kathmandu: Janata Samajwadi Party (JSP) is holding the party’s statute convention from today. The party’s Central Committee meeting held on Saturday approved the draft of the party’s statue.
The approved statute would be tabled in the party’s statute convention to be started on Sunday. The meeting also approved the formation of the Socialist Front (Samajwadi Morcha) that was announced last week to “safeguard the achievements obtained from the people’s war, people’s movement, Madhesh movement, and other political struggles”.
In today’s convention, 778 representatives including 423 members of the Central Committee as well as 778 representatives including 10 people nominated from the Provincial Committee, National Committee, Special Provincial Committee, District Committee, Metropolis, Sister Organization, and the Central Committee will participate.
Basnet stated that the participating representatives will be divided into 11 groups and will discuss the statute.Meanwhile, the central committee meeting of the party held on Saturday expelled five leaders — Dipendra Nembang, Deu Kumar Nembang, Mahendra Chaudhary, Manoranjan Goit and Dharmendra Marbaita — from the party on charge of their disloyalty to the party’s election campaigns in the general elections held last November.
