Kathmandu: The Kathmandu Metropolitan City (KMC) is to conduct examination for the scholarships to be provided from the private schools run within the KMC. KMC Mayor Balendra Shah said that they would conduct examination for the scholarships within the limitations of the laws.

The scholarships are to be provided to the students for grade 11 and the KMC is going to conduct the selection examinations in accordance with the provisions in the KMC’s Education Act-2075 BS and Education Regulations 2074 BS for this new academic year, informed Sitaram Koirala, Head of the KMC Education Department.

This move is aimed at ensuring impartiality in distribution of the scholarships. Scholarship would be provided to selected candidates on the principle of inclusiveness and some parameters such as impoverished family, backward zone and indigenous communities among others.
