Kathmandu: The Federal Parliament Secretariat has announced that the meeting of the House of Representatives has been adjourned until 3PM on Tuesday.
The meeting of the top leaders Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal, Nepali Congress (NC) President Sher Bahadur Deuba and CPN-UML Chairman KP Sharma Oli held at 4 pm did not reach a concrete agreement to open the parliament barrier, so the parliament meeting was postponed till Tuesday.
The gold recovered from the Tribhuvan International Airport Customs Office was seized by the Department of Revenue Investigation (DRI) Sinamangal area on July 18. In that case, the DRI was investigating the case related to revenue leakage under the leadership of Prime Minister’s Office.
But the CPN-UML has been obstructing the parliament demanding that a parliamentary probe committee should be formed to investigate gold smuggling. Before the meeting, Speaker Devraj Ghimire held a meeting with PM Dahal, NC President Deuba and UML Chairman Oli to discuss to resolve the obstruction.
