Kathmandu: Nepal’s aspirations of advancing to the global qualifiers in the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup Asia qualifiers, held in Malaysia, were dashed as they succumbed to a disappointing loss to Thailand.
Nepal’s journey came to an end as they were defeated by a substantial margin of 46 runs by Thailand. Their dream of progressing to the global qualifiers remained unfulfilled. In pursuit of Thailand’s target of 106 runs, Nepal’s batting woes were evident as they were bowled out for a mere 59 runs in 19.3 overs.
Kabita Kunwar was the lone fighter for Nepal, ending unbeaten with a contribution of 17 runs. Kabita Joshi and Apsari Begum managed to add 10 runs each to the team’s total, while the rest of the lineup failed to reach double figures in their individual scores.
