Stock market surpasses 2,800 points, total transaction volume increased as well

Kathmandu: The stock market crossed the 2,800-point mark on Wednesday. After declining by 2.61 points the previous day, the market rose by 45.12 points today. With this gain, the NEPSE index reached 2,802 points, which also stood as the highest level recorded during the trading session.

The total transaction volume also increased. While the market recorded transactions worth NPR 6.73 billion the previous day, it rose to NPR 8.31 billion today. Share prices of 251 companies increased, while 15 declined and 2 remained unchanged. All sectoral indices showed gains.

The manufacturing and processing sector recorded the highest growth, rising by 3.87 percent. Other sectors also posted gains: banking increased by 1.15 percent, development banks by 1.98 percent, finance by 1.45 percent, hotels and tourism by 2.56 percent, hydropower by 2.61 percent, investment by 1.35 percent, life insurance by 1.31 percent, microfinance by 1.28 percent, non-life insurance by 1.01 percent, others by 0.15 percent, and trading by 0.61 percent.

The share prices of six companies surged by 10 percent. These include Reliance Spinning Mills, Shreenagar Agritech, Solu Hydropower, Hotel Forest Inn, Super Khudi Hydropower, Ridgeline Energy, and Suryakunda Hydroelectric.

Sanvi Energy gained 9.22 percent, while Bandipur Cable Car rose by 8.18 percent. On the other hand, Swet Ganga Hydropower declined by 4.35 percent, Maikhola Hydropower by 3.23 percent, and Three Star Hydropower by 2.28 percent.

The companies with the highest trading volumes today included SY Panel, Reliance Spinning Mills, Shivam Cements, NRN Infrastructure, and National Hydropower.
