Manang, May 15 — A significant number of tourists visited the Annapurna trekking route in Baisakh 2083 under the Annapurna Conservation Area Project (ACAP).
According to statistics released by ACAP Manang, a total of 7,200 tourists visited Manang during the month of Baisakh alone.
The data shows that 969 tourists from SAARC countries traveled to Manang, including 738 men and 231 women. Among SAARC nations, the highest number of visitors came from India. According to ACAP Manang Office Chief Dhak Bahadur Bhujel, 961 Indian tourists visited Manang during the period.
Similarly, 6,231 tourists from other foreign countries visited Manang. Among them were 3,455 men, 2,774 women, and two tourists identifying as other genders. The statistics indicate that the highest number of foreign visitors came from Israel, with 1,209 Israeli tourists arriving in Manang.
According to tourism entrepreneurs, tourist arrivals in Manang have been increasing due to favorable weather conditions, improvements in trekking trails, and growing attraction toward the Himalayan scenery.
The Annapurna trekking route is regarded as one of the world’s most popular trekking destinations. With the rise in tourist arrivals, local hotel businesses, transportation services, and other tourism-related economic activities have also become more active.
