Kathmandu — The federal parliament’s joint session has been scheduled for Friday at 4 PM to present the budget for the upcoming fiscal year.
During Wednesday’s meeting of the House of Representatives, Speaker Devaraj Ghimire informed lawmakers that members of both the House of Representatives and the National Assembly must be present by 3:45 PM for the joint session scheduled on Jestha 15.
Following the promulgation of the Constitution of Nepal, it has been constitutionally mandated that the annual budget be presented on Jestha 15 in a joint sitting of both houses of parliament. This date has been fixed to coincide with Republic Day celebrations.
