Third meeting of ‘Nepal–Denmark Bilateral Consultation Mechanism’ concluded

Kathmandu: The third meeting of the Nepal–Denmark Bilateral Consultation Mechanism was held in Kathmandu. The meeting was co-chaired by Ganesh Prasad Dhakal, Chief of the Europe Division and Joint Secretary at Nepal’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and Christian Tobias Bayer Tygesen, Director of the Department for Asia, Oceania, Latin America, and the Caribbean at Denmark’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The Nepali delegation comprised officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and various sectoral ministries. The Danish delegation included Rasmus Abildgaard Christensen, Denmark’s non-resident Ambassador to Nepal, along with other officials from the Embassy of Denmark in New Delhi.

Both sides reviewed various aspects of bilateral relations and discussed the longstanding friendly ties between Nepal and Denmark since the establishment of diplomatic relations in 1967. The two sides also agreed to commemorate the 60th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Nepal and Denmark in 2027.

Both parties underscored their commitment to advancing cooperation based on shared values of good governance, transparency, sustainable development, and democratic principles.
