Kathmandu, Dec 27: The Public Accounts Committee of the House of Representatives (HoR) has directed the Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) to investigate the process of purchasing the TERAMOCS system. It has also been asked to inform the committee every 30 days about the progress made in this regard.
On Wednesday, the accounts committee held discussions with officials of Nepal Telecommunication Authority, Nepal Telecom and other bodies regarding the purchase of TERAMOCS system. The committee raised 15 questions in the procurement process and directed to maintain status quo on the entire process.
It has also directed the CIAA to conduct a thorough analysis and investigation into the works carried out so far in the purchase of the system. President Rishikesh Pokharel said that the CIAA has been directed to submit the progress report every 30 days and take the concerned to the prosecution process as per the law if any misuse of authority is found.
