Gold price drops by Rs 500, traded at Rs 124,500 per tola

Kathmandu, March 18: Gold prices have seen a consecutive decline for two days this week after reaching a peak. Compared to last Friday, the price per tola decreased by Rs 400 on Sunday and further dropped by Rs 500 on Monday, according to the Federation of Nepal Gold and Silver Dealers’ Associations.

On Monday, the trading price of fine gold was fixed at Rs 124,500 per tola, down from Rs 125,000 per tola on Sunday. Previously, fine gold was priced at Rs 125,400 per tola on Friday and Rs 125,800 per tola on Thursday.

Following a record high, the price of gold has been gradually decreasing. Over the span of seven days, the price per tola has witnessed a decline of Rs 1,500.

Similarly, silver prices also experienced a slight decrease, with a drop of Rs 10 per tola to reach Rs 1,520 on Monday. This follows a peak of Rs 1,530 per tola on Sunday, representing an increase of Rs 15 compared to Friday. Last Thursday and Friday, silver was priced at Rs 1,515 per tola, marking a Rs 50 increase from the previous Wednesday.

In the international market, gold is currently trading at $2147.34 per ounce on Monday, down from $2156.08 per ounce on Sunday. Similarly, the price of silver stands at $25 per ounce, slightly lower than Sunday’s rate of $25.18 per ounce.
