Kathmandu: Hitendra Dev Shakya, the former Managing Director of the Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA), has filed a writ petition in the Supreme Court challenging the government’s decision to transfer him from his position.
In his petition, Shakya has requested the Court to order his reinstatement as NEA’s Managing Director. The petition is scheduled for a hearing on Tuesday before a bench led by Justice Nripdhwaj Niraula.
Should the Supreme Court issue an interim order in his favor, Shakya will be reinstated to his role at the NEA.This legal action follows the government’s decision, made under the leadership of Prime Minister Sushila Karki, to transfer Shakya through a cabinet resolution. As part of the decision, Manoj Silwal was appointed as the new Managing Director of NEA, succeeding Shakya.
