Salakpur (Morang): With the slogan “My Pride, My Sahara — For Everyone, Forever,” the 29th Annual General Meeting of Sahara Nepal Savings and Credit Cooperative Ltd. was held successfully in a grand manner.
Organized by the Sahara Nepal SACCOS Virat Chowk Service Center, the Annual General Meeting took place on Thursday, Poush 3, at the assembly hall of Bhulke SACCOS in Salakpur, Sundarharaicha–8.
On the occasion, journalist Shiva Bhattarai Bhojpure, editor of Sundarharaicha Update, was honored under the Sahara Cooperative Journalism Award.
According to the organizers, Bhattarai was honored in recognition of his contributions through journalism by continuously highlighting the cooperative movement, local development, and community activities.
The institution stated that Bhattarai was highly appreciated for truthfully presenting social events through journalism and for his significant contribution—especially toward the overall development, transparency, and public awareness of the cooperative sector.
Similarly, on the same occasion, the institution also honored and awarded cooperative members under various categories, including the Prof. Muhammad Yunus Award, Outstanding Entrepreneur Award, National Talent Award, and Excellent Transaction Award.
The Annual General Meeting was graced by Nilam Thapa, Ward Member of Sundarharaicha–12, as the Chief Guest. The program was chaired by Chiranjivi Regmi, Coordinator of the Service Center Support Committee, and was conducted by Kusum Chudal, Service Center Chief.
