Gold Price continues to surge, tops Rs 277,000 per Tola

Kathmandu: With the wedding season beginning, the price of gold has continued its upward trend, while silver prices have seen slight fluctuations.

According to the Federation of Nepal Gold and Silver Dealers’ Association, the price of fine gold has been fixed at Rs 277,800 per tola on Sunday. The price of silver has been set at Rs 5,625 per tola.

Fine gold was traded at Rs 276,500 per tola on Thursday and Rs 277,200 on Friday. Silver, meanwhile, was traded at Rs 5,485 per tola on Thursday and Rs 5,645 on Friday.

The Federation said fluctuations in international gold and silver prices, movements in the dollar exchange rate and geopolitical uncertainty have affected prices in the domestic market.

International media reported that gold was trading at USD 4,596 per ounce in the international market on Sunday, while silver was priced at USD 90 per ounce.
