Kathmandu: Gold and silver prices in Nepal have surged to unprecedented levels, reaching new record highs on Thursday. According to the Federation of Nepal Gold and Silver Dealers’ Association, the price of gold skyrocketed by Rs 20,500 per tola in just one day, with fine gold now being traded at Rs 339,300 per tola—marking the highest price ever recorded in the country.
This comes after fine gold was priced at Rs 318,800 per tola on Wednesday. Similarly, the price of silver has also risen, increasing by Rs 205 per tola. Silver is currently being sold at Rs 7,505 per tola, up from Rs 7,300 per tola the previous day.The consistent rise in the prices of these precious metals has sparked growing concerns among both traders and consumers.
