Kalimati market sets wholesale prices for fruits and vegetables

Kathmandu — The Kalimati Fruit and Vegetable Market Development Committee has set the wholesale prices of agricultural produce for today. According to the committee, prices include: large tomato (Indian) Rs. 70/kg, small local tomato Rs. 45/kg, small tunnel tomato Rs. 55/kg, small Indian tomato Rs. 60/kg, small Terai tomato Rs. 60/kg, red potato Rs. 26/kg, Indian red potato Rs. 26/kg, and dried onion (Indian) Rs. 38/kg.

Similarly, local carrot Rs. 60/kg, Terai carrot Rs. 50/kg, local cabbage Rs. 50/kg, Terai cabbage Rs. 50/kg, cabbage (Neribal) Rs. 30/kg, local cauliflower Rs. 25/kg, Jyapu cauliflower Rs. 45/kg, Terai cauliflower Rs. 30/kg, red radish Rs. 35/kg, white radish (local) Rs. 15/kg, white radish (hybrid) Rs. 20/kg, long eggplant Rs. 60/kg, and round eggplant Rs. 70/kg.

Green peas Rs. 50/kg, local butter beans Rs. 100/kg, hybrid butter beans Rs. 70/kg, rajma beans Rs. 130/kg, flat beans Rs. 70/kg, bitter gourd Rs. 180/kg, sponge gourd Rs. 135/kg, bottle gourd Rs. 80/kg, ripe pumpkin Rs. 55/kg, green pumpkin (long and round) Rs. 20/kg, turnip Rs. 50/kg, okra Rs. 110/kg, sweet potato Rs. 65/kg, bitter melon Rs. 60/kg, taro Rs. 65/kg, and chayote Rs. 65/kg.

Leafy greens such as mustard greens Rs. 20/kg, spinach Rs. 35/kg, cress Rs. 30/kg, fenugreek Rs. 40/kg, green onion Rs. 60/kg, bamboo shoots Rs. 60/kg, yam Rs. 60/kg, oyster mushroom Rs. 100/kg, button mushroom Rs. 350/kg, king mushroom Rs. 300/kg, and shiitake mushroom Rs. 1,000/kg.

Broccoli Rs. 40/kg, beetroot Rs. 65/kg, moringa Rs. 280/kg, red cabbage Rs. 100/kg, celery Rs. 180/kg, parsley Rs. 400/kg, mint Rs. 350/kg, tamarind Rs. 180/kg, bamboo shoot Rs. 130/kg, tofu Rs. 150/kg, gundruk Rs. 300/kg, and tree tomato Rs. 260/kg.

Among fruits: apple (local) Rs. 250/kg, Fuji apple Rs. 300/kg, banana Rs. 190/dozen, lemon Rs. 200/kg, pomegranate Rs. 330/kg, green grapes Rs. 250/kg, black grapes Rs. 400/kg, orange Rs. 200/kg, watermelon Rs. 90/kg, sweet lime Rs. 130/kg, pineapple Rs. 145 each, cucumber (local) Rs. 160/kg, cucumber (hybrid) Rs. 70/kg, papaya (Nepali) Rs. 70/kg, papaya (Indian) Rs. 110/kg, strawberry Rs. 550/kg, kiwi Rs. 260/kg, and avocado Rs. 350/kg.

Other items include amla Rs. 100/kg, ginger Rs. 120/kg, dried chili Rs. 420/kg, green chili Rs. 180/kg, bullet chili Rs. 160/kg, Akabare chili Rs. 900/kg, garlic (Chinese dried) Rs. 250/kg, dried fish Rs. 1,000/kg, and fresh fish varieties ranging from Rs. 250–340/kg.
