Kathmandu: Nepal Rastra Bank has instructed banks and financial institutions to ensure the availability of banking services on public holidays.
Through a formal directive, the central bank has requested that bank and financial institution offices remain operational on the occasion of the Holi festival and on the day of the House of Representatives election, scheduled for Falgun 21 (Thursday).
The central bank has also directed designated commercial banks handling government transactions to make necessary arrangements for payment systems and revenue collection.
Furthermore, banks and financial institutions managing accounts for election campaigning have been instructed to facilitate banking services such as deposits, payments, and transactions through cash, cheques, or other instruments for political parties and candidates.
