Kathmandu, Chaitra 17 — Effective from today (Wednesday), the Ministry of Energy, Water Resources and Irrigation has imposed a complete ban on the use of plastic materials within its premises.
The Ministry stated that the decision has been implemented with the objective of promoting environmental conservation, cleanliness, and a commitment to sustainable development in practice.
According to the Ministry, this step has been taken in line with its policy to minimize the negative environmental impacts caused by excessive use of plastic products, while encouraging the adoption of alternative and eco-friendly materials.
It is believed that this decision will send a positive message to all government bodies and stakeholders. The Ministry has also expressed expectations for collective cooperation to ensure the effective implementation of this initiative in the coming days.
