Kathmandu: The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) witnessed a broad-based rally on the first trading day of the week, surging 38.19 points on Monday.
Compared to the previous trading day, the NEPSE, which rose by 1.39 percent, settled at 2783.85 points. On this day, the Sensitive Index also increased by 6.08 points to stop at 473.41 points. On a percentage basis, this is 1.30 percent higher than the previous trading day. Similarly, the float index increased by 1.43 percent and the sensitive float index by 1.32 percent.
In the stock market on Monday, at least 10,439,432 shares were bought and sold through 68,444 transactions of 332 companies. Accordingly, a turnover of Rs 4.613 billion occurred on Monday.Share prices of 247 companies increased in the stock market today. While the share prices of 18 companies went down, the share prices of four companies remained stable. Out of the 13 groups traded in NEPSE today, the subindices of all groups increased, and greenery prevailed.
Accordingly, on Monday, the index of the Commercial Bank group increased by 1.02 percent, Development Bank by 1.26 percent, Finance by 1.81 percent, Hotels and Tourism by 0.69 percent, Hydropower by 1.79 percent, Investment by 1.25 percent, Life Insurance by 0.99 percent, and the Manufacturing and Processing group sub-index by 1.30 percent.
Similarly, the sub-indices of microfinance increased by 1.70 percent, mutual funds by 0.06 percent, non-life insurance by 1.60 percent, others by 2.11 percent, and the trading group by 1.15 percent.In NEPSE on Monday, investors of First Microfinance Laghu Bitta Bittiya Sanstha earned 14.19 percent. Similarly, investors of Trishuli Jal Vidhyut Company lost 2.87 percent in share price.
Based on the turnover amount, Reliance Spinning Mills remained at the top. Today, a turnover of Rs 211.1 million occurred for Reliance. Likewise, based on the number of shares traded, National Hydropower Company was ahead. On Monday, at least 598,013 shares of this company were bought and sold. Its final trading price was maintained at Rs 296 per share.
