Parties finalize allocation of Parliamentary Committee leadership

Kathmandu: The chief whips of the ruling and main opposition parties have concluded the allocation of parliamentary committees. Top leaders of major parties, sans the Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) and Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP), finalized the decision.

Chief Whip of Maoist Center, Hitraj Pandey, confirmed that an agreement was reached between the ruling coalition and the main opposition CPN-UML.According to the decision, the Nepali Congress, being the largest party in the parliament, will have four committee chairpersons.

Similarly, the CPN-UML will have three, and the Maoist Center will have two chairpersons.In addition, the Janata Samajwadi Party, Unified Samajwadi Party, and Janamat Party will each have one chairperson. However, it is noteworthy that the fourth party in the parliament, the RSP, and the fifth party, the RPP, did not receive any committee chairmanship in this allocation.
