Kathmandu: The government has announced a comprehensive workshop focusing on migrant workers, scheduled to take place from September 10 to 12. The event will include the participation of Nepali ambassadors stationed in various countries.
The primary objective of this workshop is to devise a strategic plan aimed at addressing the challenges faced by migrant workers.In parallel, Prime Minister (PM) Pushpa Kamal Dahal issued directives on Thursday, urging ministers and secretaries to proactively address the issues plaguing migrant workers.
PM Dahal specifically instructed the concerned ministers and secretaries to conduct an in-depth study of the predicaments confronting Nepali individuals employed abroad and to collate pertinent data.Emphasizing the diversity of challenges across different work destinations, PM Dahal underscored the importance of accurately determining the magnitude of the foreign workforce.
Likewise, the collection of data pertaining to the nature of their employment is of equal significance.He emphasized the need to categorize documented and undocumented labor while also highlighting the necessity for a comprehensive understanding of the employment landscape.
