Kokatta,April 7 : Kolkata Knight Riders defeated Royal Challengers Bangalore by 81 runs in Indian Premier League (IPL) cricket.Chasing the target of 250 runs given by Kolkata in last night’s match at the Eden Gardens, Bangalore were reduced to 123 runs in 17 overs of 4 balls. Bangalore captain Faf du Plessis scored the highest 23 runs and Virat Kohli scored 21 runs. Kolkata’s Varun Chakraborty took 4 wickets, Suyash Sharma 3 and Sunil Narine 2 wickets.
Before that, Kolkata lost the toss and scored 204 runs after losing 7 wickets in 20 overs. Kolkata’s Shardul Thakur scored 68 runs and Rahmanullah Gurwaz scored 57 runs. This is also Gurwaz’s first fifty in IPL cricket.
Similarly, Rinku Singh added 46 runs. Bangalore’s Debid Chili and Karn Sharma took 2/2 each and Mohammad Siraj, Harshal Patel and Michael Bracewell took 1/1 wicket each. With two points in the first win, Kolkata is at the third position in the table. Bangalore is in seventh place with 2 points from 2 matches.
